June 2014 Favorites

It was a little hard to actually come up with three products in each section this month, mostly because I just have not been wearing much makeup. Nonetheless here are my monthly favorites for this past month!

Face Products

1. Beauty Blender : I have had about 3 months to play with this and figure out how to best utilize it in my makeup application. So this is basically my favorite thing ever now. It really blends foundation effortlessly, and when using it with a fuller coverage formula it really gives an airbrush finish. I generally prefer matte finish foundations but it is easy to look like you have cake face, this sponge helps give those foundations the slightest dewy finish, which I really like. Lord knows I don't need a really dewy foundation because I would look as greasy as the bottom of a KFC bucket.

2. Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream : Since I haven't been wearing much makeup this month but I wanted a little something this has been super easy to throw on and go. I wont say that this has amazing coverage or does anything super crazy good for my skin, because I would be lying. Really it just moisturizes and slightly evens out my skin. Also I am a sucker for the scent of all of the Fresh Effects products.

3. Garnier Clean + Nourishing Cleansing Oil : I started out with a sample of this that I got in the mail and because I don't need much I used that sample for awhile before buying a full sized bottle. I have always been intrigued by oil cleansers but the other brands I have seen on blogs are either not sold in my area or are out of my price range. (I have tried the MAC version when it came out in a mini size but it has been a few years and I don't remember how much I liked it.) I use one pump all over my dry face and then wet my face a little and rub it in more before removing it with one of those Olay cloths that are dry and you wet yourself. It leaves my skin soft and clean, so I am diggin' it!

Eye Products

1. L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Effect Mascara : I got this in my last Influenster Vox Box. I will definitely be repurchasing this mascara again when I run out of the ones I am currently using. This gives me just enough length and tons of volume with about 2 coats. I would give it a try if you haven't already.

2. e.l.f. Essentials Liquid Eyeliner in Black : This is not the be all end all of liquid liner but for $1 I think it is pretty fucking awesome. In all honesty my only issue with this is that it doesn't come in a waterproof formula. I really like the little brush and the handle is just long enough for me. The color is nice and dark black but I have noticed that it can run if I sweat or get wet. ELF is always running sales so I am sure you will be able to get this for less than $1 if you are afraid you wont like it.

3. MAC Naked Pigment : Keeping with the minimal makeup this month I have been patting this all over my eyelids with some mascara and eyeliner. It also looks nice as a highlighter on the tops of my cheeks. Really this is just a good staple pigment to have, it can be used for so many things. A bit in the center of the lips can help them look fuller, its nice in clear nailpolish, and even brushed on the shoulders and décolletage.

Lip Products

1. NYX Butter Gloss in Fortune Cookie : I have said before that I love these glosses, this one has been my favorite lately especially with the NYC lip crayon I mention below. It is my favorite nude gloss, it is light but works for my coloring. If you haven't tried these yet you really need to ASAP.

2. NYC City Proof Twistable Crayon in Nolita Neutral : Let me just tell you these are the best lip crayon/pencils that I have found! They are only like $2.99 so they are super affordable if you can find them on sale or use a coupon.

3. Cake Batter Chapstick : This smells awesome! Which is really the only reason you need lip balm right?

Other Beauty Products

1. Head & Shoulders Dry Scalp Care 2 Minute Hair Mask: I know it is kinda gross but thats life, my scalp gets flakey and it has for as long as I remember. I don't like using the H&S Shampoo because it drys my already frizzy hair out but this is the best of both worlds, it helps with the dry scalp and also helps moisturize my hair. I really like this one because it leaves my scalp feeling tingly and clean.

2. Macadamia Natural Oil Healing Treatment  : The past couple of months I have been trying to fade the red out of my hair which means I have been washing it as much as possible in order to get the color out. In order to keep it more manageable I have been using this after I get out of the shower and a little before/after styling.

3. Hemp Body Lotion Original :  I don't like feeling sticky and hot, therefore I do not usually like to wear lotion. This is a lotion that I got when I was tanning a couple years ago, it is very moisturizing but  also very lightweight. The scent is really what attracts me, it is almost like bubblegum but also a little fruity. I approve !

Non-Beauty Products

1. Gold and Raspberry Starbucks Tumbler : I had my eye on this cup since I first saw it in an e-mail. When I got a Groupon deal for Starbucks I decided to go ahead and splurge for it. Since then it has basically been my favorite thing, it is just so pretty! :D

2. OITNB & Big Brother 16 : I loved the first season of Orange Is The New Black so of course I binge watched the second season the weekend it came out, so idk if it really counts to make this a monthly favorite since I finished it in like 2 days. Soooo I will also include Big Brother, this is pretty much a yearly thing in my family. I have my favorites already but I don't want to jinx anything yet. If you haven't seen either of them I highly suggest you catch up!

3. Bath & Body Works Marshmallow Fireside : I love candles. I am OBSESSED with this candle. I have been savoring this candle for months but I finally finished it off this month and I am very sad that I am going to have to wait a few more months before I can restock. It is the perfect creamy vanilla marshmallow with the hint of smoky firewood, I think I enjoy this more than actually eating s'mores.
