Target Beauty Box

So I totally meant to get this post up about 4 days ago when I got this in the mail, but I had things going on. Today I am feeling a little under the weather and since I have been on the couch on doing nothing but browsing 9gag and feeling pathetic over my failed attempt to get croissants and frozen yogurt from Sam's Club, so why not be a little more productive and write this before it is lost in the land of potential blog posts that I intend to write.
Target use to have these awesome little sample filled makeup bags that they would send you for free if you were lucky enough to get signed up in time, well they did away with those but in its place they introduced this new product which is only $5 plus tax(shipped for free) and includes 5 full sized/deluxe sample sized products. Unfortunately this time they are sold out, but if this comes back again I will post before they are gone.

So upon opening this box, which was packaged very well for the price I must say, I found a card that included information about the products included and a coupon for $3 off a $15 or more beauty purchase from Target.

After opening up the red tissue paper, I found another card which has a coupon code for 20% off that can be used at Dermstore, blush, and hairenvy. I have had multiple codes for Dermstore and just never found anything that is worth using the code, but I will have to take a look at the other two sites and see if anything strikes my fancy.

Alright onto the good stuff, included in the box was a sample size of Toni & Guy Casual Sea Salt Texturizing Spray. This is the product I was least excited about, my thick hair really does not need any help in the texture category, when I use any sea salt spray I often end up with a sticky afro rather than beachy waves. I am gonna give this one to someone else that can get more use out of it. So for a little price info, you can buy a full size of this product (6.8 oz) for $14.99 or a sample size which is what I received (2.5 oz) for $4.99.

Next up is the full size L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara in Black. This is the product I was most excited about and the whole reason I went ahead and purchased the box, this mascara retails for $7.99 so even if I hated everything else in the box I got this mascara for $2.99 cheaper. Not a bad deal right?

Herbal Essences recently came out with a new line of paraben free products and I got a sample size of the Dry Shampoo. Lord knows I use a ton of dry shampoo so this is a nice product to get to try. I am curious how it will compare to my beloved Batiste, since I am not a fan of the Suave Dry Shampoos which I have heard is comparable to the Herbal Essences Naked Dry Shampoo. Price breakdown, I received a sample size (1.7 oz) which I could not find a price for online, but considering the full size (4.9 oz) is $4.99 I assume that the sample would cost around $2.77.

Another full sized product included was a Cover Girl Smoochies Sizzle Gloss in the shade Tickled Pink. These retail for $5.99 and come in a large range of colors. These smell nice but I am not sure that they will have much if any color payoff.

Last but not least was a sample size of Jergens new BB Body Cream for light skin tones. I am not entirely sold on this yet, I don't see the point in the product being tinted since it isn't a tanning product but I might be writing a more in depth review after trying it out for awhile. The full size (7.5 oz) costs $7.99 so I assume that the sample (2 oz) I got is worth about $2.13.

So in conclusion I spent a whopping $5 and if my calculations are correct I received about $23.87 worth of product. I am giving the sea salt spray away but still this is a great price to try out a couple products without losing out if I don't end up liking them. So my advice is to keep an eye out for the next time one of these Target Beauty Boxes comes around and then snatch it up as soon as you can.
My only complaint is that when I purchased this I was charged for shipping (which made the box come out to $11, still not bad for everything included) but there seemed to be an issue with the system including the free shipping and a quick call to customer service fixed that and they refunded the shipping cost. So just be aware of that if you place an order and they don't have the issue fixed with the next box.
